WHY IT MATTERS

The short version.

The statistic connects culture, digital access and measurement. It also demonstrates the difference between percentage points and relative percent change.

01

What happened

Eurostat reports that 26.8% of people in the EU bought event tickets online during the three months before its 2025 ICT-use survey, up 3.8 percentage points from 2024.

02

What the survey result says

The indicator concerns people who reported buying online tickets for events in the previous three months. The time window and surveyed population belong with the number; removing them would make the claim broader than the evidence.

Eurostat reports a rise of 3.8 percentage points from 2024. That is not the same wording as a 3.8 percent relative increase.

03

Country variation needs context

The source shows wide differences between member states. Those differences can reflect access, income, event markets, digital habits, sampling variation and other conditions; the ranking alone does not identify a cause.

A useful follow-up would compare definitions, confidence information and longer trends rather than treating one annual observation as a permanent national characteristic.

04

From trending statistic to durable literacy

The connected percentage guide explains denominators and percentage points. The language and culture hub keeps the statistic connected to a broader cultural context instead of leaving it as an isolated curiosity.
